iQor Trinidad officially opened its third contact centre in Trinidad, located at Ramsaran Street in the Borough of Chaguanas, on March 23rd 2022. This new branch is projected to employ 800 local call centre agents.
‘iQor’s continued expansion is a real example of diversification taking place in Trinidad and Tobago’ stated Senator the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon as she delivered the feature address at the ribbon-cutting event, expressing her pride in the establishment of the centre, which is also iQor’s first in Chaguanas.
She also applauded InvesTT’s executives as being responsible for the opening up of this country’s BPO industry with the entrance of iQor in 2015.

Also at the event, Mayor of Chaguanas, His Worship the Mayor Faaiq Mohammed reiterated iQor’s vision as one which sought to ‘empower people with technology, creating happy employees who deliver the most sought after customer experience.’ He paid tribute to the company’s growth trajectory stating that ‘iQor has the formula right, as evidenced by their long list of clients and their new centre.’
Visiting executive Terri Robertson, Vice President of Operations, iQor gave an overview of the company’s presence in Trinidad indicating that in less than 7 years the Company has been able to invest in local talent to create 18 lines of business, at its 3 centers. iQor’s lines of business in Trinidad include two ‘firsts’ for the company - that of hospitality and healthcare. Ms. Robertson further illustrated that iQor’s biggest investment is in their employees and highlighted that the event was a celebration of their work. ‘You bring the heart of Trinidad to the Centre.’ She shared that it was their pride in country and in themselves that made them unique employees.
This latest investment, valued at TT$27 million, is projected to increase the company’s local employee footprint to approximately 2800 jobs which includes over 200 bilinguals. According to VP Operations and Country Lead, Dr. William Huggins, the ability of iQor to offer bilingual customer support has increased the country’s marketability in terms of attractiveness to bring even more clients to the company.
iQor aims to provide all of the necessary conveniences to ensure that they create happy employees who in turn provide excellent customer service. “iQor’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago goes beyond the financial investments from setting up three centers. We build professionalism, creating a customer experience that is second to none.” Dr. Huggins described that training is also another avenue used to ensure that their staff performs at their best. This is not only done through the company’s online university but through the specialized training that comes with each new client of the call centre. This leads to a customer experience of excellence for which iQor has received many awards.
Speaking with media at the event, Sekou Alleyne, President, InvesTT shared that iQor was able to employ a 100% “remote work” operation at the onset of the pandemic and has continued to employ a “hybrid” model in response to prevailing public health regulations. He said “this is a testament to iQor’s operational capabilities, their commitment to employee safety, the adaptability and professionalism of their staff and Trinidad and Tobago’s robust digital infrastructure.”
Community outreach was highlighted as a major area of iQor’s corporate social responsibility, with Huggins citing iQor’s involvement in some measure of outreach in every country in which they are located. “At iQor, this community outreach starts with our employees. We provide support for those who are experiencing difficulties and are in need of assistance.” Additionally, the company provides transport to and from its location in Wallerfield (Tamana InTech Park) and from its Barataria location on evenings. As the new Chaguanas branch is centrally located, the intention is to recruit staff from the borough’s immediate labour pool.
Since the establishment of iQor’s first call center in Trinidad and Tobago 7 years ago, InvesTT has continued to support the Company through its Investor Services unit which is responsible for ensuring that existing investors continue to do business and ultimately re-invest in the country.
