Investment in Human Resources

This latest investment, valued at TT$27 million, is projected to increase the company’s local employee footprint to approximately 2800 jobs which includes over 200 bilinguals.  According to VP Operations and Country Lead, Dr. William Huggins, the ability of iQor to offer bilingual customer support has increased the country’s marketability in terms of attractiveness to bring even more clients to the company.

iQor aims to provide all of the necessary conveniences to ensure that they create happy employees who in turn provide excellent customer service. “iQor’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago goes beyond the financial investments from setting up three centers. We build professionalism, creating a customer experience that is second to none.”  Dr. Huggins described that training is also another avenue used to ensure that their staff performs at their best. This is not only done through the company’s online university but through the specialized training that comes with each new client of the call centre. This leads to a customer experience of excellence for which iQor has received many awards.

Pandemic Response

Speaking with media at the event, Sekou Alleyne, President, InvesTT shared that iQor was able to employ a 100% “remote work” operation at the onset of the pandemic and has continued to employ a “hybrid” model in response to prevailing public health regulations. He said “this is a testament to iQor’s operational capabilities, their commitment to employee safety, the adaptability and professionalism of their staff and Trinidad and Tobago’s robust digital infrastructure.”

iQor's Community Outreach

Community outreach was highlighted as a major area of iQor’s corporate social responsibility, with Huggins citing iQor’s involvement in some measure of outreach in every country in which they are located. “At iQor, this community outreach starts with our employees. We provide support for those who are experiencing difficulties and are in need of assistance.” Additionally, the company provides transport to and from its location in Wallerfield (Tamana InTech Park) and from its Barataria location on evenings. As the new Chaguanas branch is centrally located, the intention is to recruit staff from the borough’s immediate labour pool.

Since the establishment of iQor’s first call center in Trinidad and Tobago 7 years ago, InvesTT has continued to support the Company through its Investor Services unit which is responsible for ensuring that existing investors continue to do business and ultimately re-invest in the country.
