Paramount on Peterson's agenda is training with focus on the transfer of knowledge and skills to local employees, critical to Peterson's operations. The company has a staff of 20 persons comprising mainly of local, skilled labour. If the required skill set is not immediately available in Trinidad, skilled labour is brought in from overseas to conduct training, thus building the local capacity.
Location & Shipping HubThe company made Trinidad and Tobago their home location for the Caribbean as they recognized that its geographic position between North and South America is an ideal trans shipment hub to leverage services to other Caribbean islands.
An Oil & Gas Rich DestinationTrinidad & Tobago enjoys over 100 years of energy experience as evidenced by an estimated 180 resident oil and gas companies – a potential market for Peterson.
Critical to the company's start-up was bringing on board their Country Manager, whose role is pertinent to the expansion and the future existence of Peterson’s Integrated Logistics TT Limited. Construction permits and hiring had to be fast-tracked with minimum hassle, as time was of the essence for Peterson’s operation. An enabling and friendly environment was therefore critical to a sucessful start-up.
InvesTT lobbied with the Works Permit Advisory Committee seeking favorable consideration of the work permit application for Peterson’s Country Manager. They took full control and provided hands-on support to Peterson. InvesTT continues to provide aftercare services to Peterson.
